General English
General English
This is designed for people who want to improve all four languages skills - speaking, listening, reading and writing. Focus will be on developing your fluency and accuracy in English. You will learn everyday survival English which will involve how to communicate in daily situations such as making medical appointments, at the supermarket, shopping, ordering food at a restaurant and socialising with friends. You will also develop your comprehension and vocabulary skills by reading a variety of texts.
You will listen to engaging and interesting audio recordings and watch YouTube videos to improve your listening skills. You will be introduced to a range of different accents and develop your pronunciation and intonation.
If you want to improve your written skills, you will learn to write formal and informal letters, emails and messages and use expressions to convey your ideas.
Lessons can either be topic based or a combination of topic and grammar. To use English correctly, it is important you know how to use the different tenses and grammatical structures such as prepositions, articles, phrasal verbs and relative clauses.
I also offer extra support for students with their English skills while still at school. This can include speaking and listening practice, improving grammar knowledge and helping with English homework. This depends on what aspect of English the individual wants to focus on. Lesson styles and language are adjusted according to the age and ability of the learner.
