Young learners (7-12 years)
By the end of an agreed number of classes, your child will be able to:

Introduce themselves and talk about their likes and dislikes

Ask questions and to respond appropriately

Learn to read and write through phonics (letter-sound relationship)

Learn the correct pronunciation and stress of words

Clearly understand native speakers as well as videos and songs in English

To read simple texts and stories as well as develop good comprehension skills

Improve vocabulary through word building games and topic work

To learn basic grammar – verbs, nouns, adjectives, there is/there are, present simple, present continuous and past simple tenses

- What’s the weather like?
- Food & drink
- Describing places in your city (a restaurant, a bank, a cinema etc)
- At the doctor
- In the home
- Describing people and things
- Free time activities
- Special days
How do I assess your child’s English skills?
An Oral Test on basic knowledge of English. Examples include

Ask and respond to questions

Agree and disagree with someone

Describe a picture, objects and actions

Understand and follow instructions

Talk briefly about themselves

Write simple sentences and give personal information
Information about the first lesson
I will work with your child to create their learning goals by:
- Encouraging them to talk about their interests and hobbies
- Assessing what areas of English, they want to improve on
- Reviewing test results, focusing on the difficult areas
- We will frequently review learning goals throughout the lessons to ensure your child has achieved them
- New targets can be set if your child wants to develop their English skills further
- Your child will engage in a speaking activity in the form of a game
